Northern California Road Trip

Last month, my best friends and I went on a hiking trip up Northern California. Jess flew from D.C. and Cate traveled from Denver to meet up with me in San Francisco. We then drove from the Bay Area to Etna, California.

It was a 6-8 hour drive, but the journey was worth it for these stunning nature views. It’s been a few months since I have seen my best friends, so it was a memorable trip to catch up.

Bisti Badlands

We traveled to the Bisti Badlands in San Juan County, New Mexico. The journey from Denver to NM was a long one, but it included several bathroom stops and pitstops for snacks. The Bisti Badlands, which means “among the adobe formations” is 45,000 acres of badlands (south of Farmington). The unusual, but vast rock formations will make you feel like you have the whole place to yourself.

White Sands National Monument

A few weeks ago, I went on a road trip with my best friends from college. We all met together in Denver and then drove to New Mexico. Our trip involved a few stops along the way, but I thought I start by posting one of my favorite spots from the trip. White Sands National Monument in New Mexico looks as breathtaking as it does in the photos. We hiked barefoot and rolled around the sand.

Yosemite National Park

Last weekend, I traveled to Yosemite National Park with a few friends. It’s a long journey from San Francisco, but the drive is worth it. We hiked up the Upper Yosemite Fall Trail, which is 7 miles roundtrip. The strenuous hike included trickling waterfalls and a spectacular view. I would love to come back in the winter time to see the mountains covered with snow.
