Shot these on Sunday, 2/9 around North Beach and Chinatown in San Francisco.
My best friend Alice came to visit this weekend, and the San Francisco Botanical Garden was one of the stops on my personal tour for her. This city is filled with natural beauty, and visiting this gem of a garden could not be missed.
Last month, my best friends and I went on a hiking trip up Northern California. Jess flew from D.C. and Cate traveled from Denver to meet up with me in San Francisco. We then drove from the Bay Area to Etna, California.
It was a 6-8 hour drive, but the journey was worth it for these stunning nature views. It’s been a few months since I have seen my best friends, so it was a memorable trip to catch up.
*Cue Portlandia theme song*
Portland is only 2 hours from San Francisco by plane, so we took some time off from work and went on a short 3-day weekend trip to the Pacific Northwest. A lot of eating was involved, less hiking.
I went to Montego Bay with my family this month and was surrounded by these vibrant gems. Jamaica, you’re a magical place.
We traveled to the Bisti Badlands in San Juan County, New Mexico. The journey from Denver to NM was a long one, but it included several bathroom stops and pitstops for snacks. The Bisti Badlands, which means “among the adobe formations” is 45,000 acres of badlands (south of Farmington). The unusual, but vast rock formations will make you feel like you have the whole place to yourself.
A few weeks ago, I went on a road trip with my best friends from college. We all met together in Denver and then drove to New Mexico. Our trip involved a few stops along the way, but I thought I start by posting one of my favorite spots from the trip. White Sands National Monument in New Mexico looks as breathtaking as it does in the photos. We hiked barefoot and rolled around the sand.
Here’s to a new year to:
- Climb more mountains
- Conquer my biggest fears
- Welcome new friendships
- Accept love within myself and from others
- Step outside of my comfort zone
- Spread compassion
- Dance away from regret
- Listen to stories of those unheard
- Appreciate every single moment
A few weeks ago, I traveled back home for Thanksgiving. It’s been four months since I was on the East Coast. It’s crazy to see how fast time flies. I was surrounded by family and home-cooked meals. True happiness.
Last weekend, I traveled to Yosemite National Park with a few friends. It’s a long journey from San Francisco, but the drive is worth it. We hiked up the Upper Yosemite Fall Trail, which is 7 miles roundtrip. The strenuous hike included trickling waterfalls and a spectacular view. I would love to come back in the winter time to see the mountains covered with snow.
