No Spectators

The Smithsonian American Art Museum has a new exhibit called, No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man. The indoor and outdoor exhibition will be running until January 2019.

If you haven’t heard of Burning Man, it’s an annual event that is held in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. The week-long event is a center for self-expression, admitting almost 70,000 people. Around the event, attendees can find large art installations such as these above. Learn more here.

CNY Preview

I’m ending my weekend feeling a bit sick, but I was still able to enjoy the past few days without letting the minor cold take over and ruin my weekend. Down with this cold (pho to the rescue)!

If you are planning on heading to the movies, I recommend giving the Oscar Nominated Animated Shorts a watch because they were incredible (emotional/sad, but worth it). Who knew animated films could be so sad? Sanjay Patel’s, “Sanjay’s Super Team” was a lovely tribute to his father.

On Sunday, there was the Chinese New Year Festival (A little CNY preview before the New Year begins) occurred at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. There were performances from the Embassy of China: music, opera, dancing, and the lion dance. It only made me excited to go back to New Jersey, and celebrate with my family!
