Shot these on Sunday, 2/9 around North Beach and Chinatown in San Francisco.
My best friend Alice came to visit this weekend, and the San Francisco Botanical Garden was one of the stops on my personal tour for her. This city is filled with natural beauty, and visiting this gem of a garden could not be missed.
Last month, my best friends and I went on a hiking trip up Northern California. Jess flew from D.C. and Cate traveled from Denver to meet up with me in San Francisco. We then drove from the Bay Area to Etna, California.
It was a 6-8 hour drive, but the journey was worth it for these stunning nature views. It’s been a few months since I have seen my best friends, so it was a memorable trip to catch up.
From my photoshoot with Alyssa back in May. We explored around Oakland and found some fun spots to set up our shoot.
We said farewell to summer at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The hour and a half drive was a nice escape from the Bay Area fog as we were greeted with 75-degree weather and the warm sandy beach.
The boardwalk reminded me of a smaller Atlantic City, although the seagulls were nicer and less aggressive. Yes, the same amount of funnel cakes and ice cream vendors. It was very nostalgic of my childhood summers spent at the shore in Jersey (please refrain from sending me any Jersey Shore jokes).
Here’s to a new year to:
- Climb more mountains
- Conquer my biggest fears
- Welcome new friendships
- Accept love within myself and from others
- Step outside of my comfort zone
- Spread compassion
- Dance away from regret
- Listen to stories of those unheard
- Appreciate every single moment
Since moving here, I have met so many kind and passionate new people who came to California for a fresh start. They were either leaving a toxic job environment, going through a bad breakup, or couldn’t stand to live at home anymore. A friend asked me why I moved, “What are you running from?” Not running, but chasing. I’m here to chase after new experiences. I want to take more jumps in my life and see where I land. I’m constantly terrified and excited about the changes and decisions that I come across every day, but it only makes life more thrilling. May we continue to focus on the people and moments that bring us joy, love, and laughter. Let’s teach each other how to live fearlessly.
Last weekend, I traveled to Yosemite National Park with a few friends. It’s a long journey from San Francisco, but the drive is worth it. We hiked up the Upper Yosemite Fall Trail, which is 7 miles roundtrip. The strenuous hike included trickling waterfalls and a spectacular view. I would love to come back in the winter time to see the mountains covered with snow.
I moved to San Francisco a few weeks ago, and I am slowly adjusting to my new life out here. It’s been a rollercoaster ride of changes, but I’m here to stay (for now).
